We are situated inland two hours south east of Perth, on the outskirts of a busy rural town Narrogin. The climate is cool winters and dry summers, ideally suited to growing grain, sheep, and of course Welsh cobs! We have 160 acres of fairly flat land on Narrogin Valley Road with an arena, stabling facilities and a small x country training course.
In the last 3 years I have decided to pursue a childhood interest and breed section D’s as I always remember loving to see Llarnarth Flying Comet being shown at a lot of Mountain & Moorland shows in the 70’s in the UK where I grew up.
After a lot of research on bloodlines and lack of availability within Western Australia, I found John & Carole Riley in Queensland with the Cwmkaren Stud. They have a stud with cobs imported directly from Wales, which is as good as it gets as far I was concerned. After meeting them and seeing their lovely, typey big moving cobs, we were very fortunate to buy two weanling fillies Cwmkaren Dancing Queen and Cwmkaren Bronwen in 2007 to become our foundation mares.
We have since been to Wales and imported Gwynfaes Madoc, a son from George Prince of Wales Cup winner 2002, and again the leading UK Welsh cob sire Gwynfaes Culhwch. We are looking forward to the progeny of Madoc when he stands at stud this season.
